Despite his relatively young age, Finnish violinist Abel Puustinen has given numerous concerts throughout Europe and Japan. In addition to being a soloist, Puustinen is a keen chamber and orchestral musician.
Before moving to London to study with Prof. Jan Repko at the Royal College of Music, London, he studied in Finland at the Sibelius Academy with violinists Antti Tikkanen and Laura Vikman.
Puustinen has played as a soloist with many orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also participated in masterclasses given by Maxim Vengerov, Ilja Grubert, Hagai Shaham, Mihaela Martin, Elina Vähälä and Ana Chumachenco to name but a few. Lauri Untamala, Géza Szilvay, Paavo Pohjola and Marko Ylönen have been instrumental in Puustinen’s professional musical career.
Puustinen plays on a Camillo Camilli violin generously loaned by the Royal College of Music London.
